Sunday, July 14th was Riverside Boat Club’s 13th annual Cromwell Cup regatta.
The event had a total of 310 entries from 31 total clubs. Racing began at 7:00 am and went all the way though to 5:00 pm. Over 150 Riverside members volunteered and lent a hand here and there to make the regatta run smoothly and efficiently.
Highlights from the day include a win for both the Riverside Women’s and Men’s Open Sweep teams in the Open 8 categories, as well as wins by Riverside in the Women’s Master’s 8, Women’s Master’s 4+ and Men’s Masters 4+. Carrie Main and Nikolay Kurmakov won their respective 1x races, as did Andrew MacMillen in the Men’s Open 1x, which had a cash prize. Dani DeWitt and Ilana Zieff won the Women’s Masters 2x. Similarly, Hannah Wayment-Steele and Hannah Elder won the Open 2x. Perhaps the most impressive performance of the day was by Lisa Russell and Jillian Zieff, who won the Inaugural Inclusion 2x event by over a minute! To all who competed, well rowed! To all who volunteered, giving their time and energy to the club and the regatta, thank you!
