High Performance Group Head Coach
Reports to: President of Riverside Boatclub, Inc.
The Riverside Boat Club High Performance Group (RBC HPG) is a year-round training opportunity for athletes aiming to represent their country in international competition. For over twenty years, RBC HPG has built a strong tradition of producing athletes who have gone on to represent their country at the World Rowing Championships, Pan American Games, and Olympic Games. We are seeking a qualified coach to continue this rich tradition.
Small boat coaching (sculling and sweep) background required. International coaching/rowing experience preferred. This is a part time position with the flexibility to work around other employment.
Main Job Responsibilities
Develop and manage overall program strategy and direction (men and women).
Design and manage on and off the water training plans, and perform physiological testing.
Coach sessions, on and off the water.
Coordinate, communicate and organize resources with Riverside coaches, board, members, and committees.
Manage and develop assistant coach(es) and intern(s).
Coordinate training trips and selection camps.
Oversee summer high performance programs.
Communicate with USRowing coaches, other club programs and athletes.
Fundraise to sustain HPG program
Collaborate with Fundraising Committee and Board to sustain and grow strategic fundraising for Riverside and for Worlds
Collaborate with and support National Team athletes.
Rig club and private equipment.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skill
Experience coaching elite level sculling
World Championship coaching experience preferred
Knowledge and observance of Charles River rules
Knowledge of USADA to facilitate athlete compliance
Knowledge of USA National Team selection procedures
Safe Sport Certified
US Rowing Level 2 Coaching Certification
Safety
Must be able to lift 30+ pounds.
Must be able to swim and have CPR certification.
Travel
Travel to out of town regattas using personal vehicle
