About the 1869 Society

a letter from our president, lynn osborn

Riverside is a fun and feisty community of ardent rowers. I am proud of our spirit and honored by our legacy. It is exciting to engage in the planning to upgrade and design our facilities to support our mission and the future of RBC.

In order to keep dues stable, we count on fundraising to support new renovation projects. Our goal is to raise $150,000 this year to move forward with facilities improvements and the vision to expand our boat storage and our community space.

Inspired by our 2012 Leadership Donor program (donors listed below), in 2019 we launched the 1869 Society. Riverside was established in 1869. The 1869 Society is Riverside’s program for honoring and thanking members, alumni and friends of Riverside who make a pledge of $10,000 or more to be paid in five years or less to Riverside. Please contact our fundraising chairs, Anita Verheul averheulobrien@gmail.com or Christine Higgins christinewhiggins@gmail.com to make a pledge.

Please invest in Riverside’s future by joining the 1869 Society or contribute to one of Riverside’s funds in any amount you can. Thank you!

Sincerely, Lynn Osborn
