Riverside had one new member join in January 2016. We’re excited to welcome Nathan Post to our Stripes community!
When & where did you begin rowing?
Nathan Post: I began rowing at Bowdoin College as a freshman in 2011. I had never rowed before but quickly fell in love with the sport. I love rowing for the commitment it requires–both the personal commitment to training and discipline and the group commitment to those on your team and in your crew. To me, there’s nothing better than the feeling of when your crew finally gets the boat to fly.
What brought you to the Boston area?
NP: I recently moved to Boston from my hometown of Denver to start a job as an analyst at Deloitte Consulting. I’m glad to be in such an exciting city, and one that is an epicenter of rowing.
What brought you to Riverside?
NP: I joined Riverside because I wanted to continue my rowing career after college. Several of my previous boatmates joined last summer and have been telling me about how excited they are about the people and the organization. I am already impressed by the volunteerism and the “more you put in, more you get out” spirit of the club, as it reminds me of my college team. I am excited to meet more Riverside members and to continue my own development as a rower in such a motivated and inspiring environment.
If you could invite any individual to dinner (living, dead, or fictional), who would it be and why?
NP: Alton Brown. I like to cook and find his scientific approach to making food interesting and helpful when I am making my own. I would like to hear about the development of Alton’s career and his opinions on current food movements.
Welcome to Riverside!
